Micoe Xizang Large Flat Panel Heating Project
Nestled on a plateau 4,700 meters above sea level, Zhongba County in the Tibet Autonomous Region experiences a dry, chilly, and sun-drenched climate, rendering it an area with challenging weather conditions. In such a setting, heating has emerged as a pressing concern for local inhabitants. The implementation of MICOE's large-scale solar central heating project in Zhongba County, Xizang has brought hope and change to solve the local heating problem. The project makes full use of the characteristics of Tibet's vast land and sparse population and abundant solar energy resources, introduces and develops the world's advanced solar central heating technology, and provides local clean and efficient heating solutions.
In the past, the residents of Zhongba County had to bundle up in heavy clothing in the cold winter, and their homes were stacked with cow dung and firewood for heating and cooking fuel. This traditional heating method was neither environmentally friendly nor convenient. The implementation of large-scale solar central heating projects has significantly improved the living and working conditions of the locals. These projects employ highly efficient large plate collectors that can achieve an instantaneous intercept rate of up to 91.8%. Compared to vacuum tube collectors, they save over 50% of floor space and have a lower failure rate. Additionally, the system cost is only 10%-20% higher than that of vacuum tubes, the construction period is significantly reduced by up to 80%, and the system operates at high pressure. Overall, this plate system represents the most advanced and efficient heating solution available thus far.
The technology of using efficient large flat plate collectors in combination with thermal storage tanks is embraced to maximize the utilization of abundant local solar energy resources. This approach not only ensures low operating costs but also delivers a pollution-free solution, making it highly suitable for the residents in plateau areas. Moreover, it enables sustainable and continuous development.
According to statistics, the implementation of the project can save 4451764.327kg of standard coal per year, reduce carbon dioxide 10995857.89kg, reduce dust 44517.64kg, reduce sulfur dioxide 89035.29kg. In addition, the total investment of the project is nearly 200 million yuan, the heating area reaches 88,200 square meters, the solar heat collection area is 32,175 square meters, and the volume of the heat storage steel tank is 15,000m, so that the indoor temperature can reach more than 20℃, providing a clean and comfortable heating environment for local residents.
The successful implementation of solar central heating technology in Tibet not only solves the energy demand of remote and high-cold plateau areas, brings clean and efficient heating solutions to the region, but also provides a new heating option for similar areas, and provides a reference for the promotion and application of large-scale solar central heating technology in the world.
